BMW introduces the successor to the successful BMW M3 DTM with the new BMW M4 DTM. Right from the start, the car shows its prowess, as the first race in Hockenheim ends in triumph. Marco Wittmann secures his first victory during the debut of the new vehicle, marking BMW's 60th win in the DTM series. Following that, Wittmann goes on to claim three more victories in Budapest, Spielberg, and at the Nürburgring.

The BMW driver dominates the season and becomes the youngest German DTM champion of all time, sealing the title two races before the end of the season. At the penultimate race in Zandvoort, the BMW Team RMG also secures the team championship. In its debut season, the BMW M4 DTM notches up a total of five victories.
