BMW 503 model series

The models BMW 503 Coupé and the BMW 503 Convertible were presented at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in 1955. The engineering of the two cars was based on the BMW 502 3.2 litre Super. The chassis and the 140 hp alloy V8 engine remained unchanged under the elegant aluminium body. Like the BMW 507 Roadster, the BMW 503 design also originated from the pen of Albrecht Graf Goertz. A total of just 412 BMW 503 models were built from May 1956 to the date when production came to an end in spring 1960, 273 were coupés and 139 were convertibles. Today, these vehicles rank among the most sought-after BMW classic cars.
