The twenty-fifth 24 Hours of Spa Francorchamps race takes place from July 21 to 22, 1973, on the Belgian Circuit and is the fifth scoring round of that year's European Touring Car Championship. The BMW CSLs account for more than a third of the starting field in the top class, with nine out of 25 vehicles, and in the end, a CSL crosses the finish line in first place. Toine Hezemans and Dieter Quester secure victory in the works BMW 3.0 CSL with a substantial 15-lap lead over the Ford Capri RS 2600 LW driven by Jochen Mass and John Fitzpatrick. Toine Hezemans also secures the European Championship title at the end of the season.
