BMW 502

At the International Geneva Motor Show in early 1954, BMW presented the type 502. It was powered by a 2.6-litre, eight-cylinder engine. This was the world's first lightweight alloy engine to be mounted in a series automobile. Generating 100 hp, this model was one of the fastest touring cars on the market. The body's chrome trim and additional fog lamps set it apart from the BMW 501. The series equipment was also more generous than in the six-cylinder model.
